Justice

Today it was announced that Plaxico Burress plead guilty and was sentenced to 2 years in prison for a weapons charge. Now I hope I am not the only person in the country that is spazzing over this.

There have been 3 major incidents recently tied to the NFL that have been followed: Michael Vick's release after serving 18 months for dogfighting and animal cruelty, Donte Stallworth's killing of a pedestrian while driving drunk, and finally Plaxico Burress' shooting of himself in a club while carrying the gun illegally.

Now out of those three, which one would you pick to serve the most time in jail? Did you pick Donte Stallworth? I know that was definitely my choice! But due to the fact that different states handle the law in their own fashions, Donte Stallworth has gotten off the easiest. He was sentenced to only 30 days in jail, which he didn't even finish because he was released on the 24th day. This is ridiculous. A man kills another man, while driving intoxicated might I add, and gets off by paying off the family and not even a month in jail? Plaxico didn't even mean for the gun to go off and didn't even shoot anybody but himself and gets 2 years! Vick was killing dogs that were wounded from fighting so that they didn't suffer. He didn't kill a HUMAN BEING! The dogfighting was his hobby and although it might not seem acceptable to some, it is a popular thing in some parts including the South. “Being from the South, that’s something that’s very prevalent in that area,” Cowboys turned Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens said when speaking out on the subject.

I am not saying we have a horrible justice system in this country, but there have been too many instances that involve questionable decisions, which result in people being over penalized compared to those who deserve harsher punishments. I hope this can be an issue that can be debated heavily because I feel that it deserves to be.

On a positive note, this season is going to be absolutely ridiculous.

Both albums are scheduled to drop in mid september. I'm sure a lot of you guys have already heard about them but I figured it wasn't official until I can make it into a post. Two of my favorite bands ever, and both major label releases...cross your fingers

street art sophisticated

The fusion of art and fashion never stops with the SWATCH brand and their new line of watches. We told you about Billy the Artist and his collaboration with the swatch company. This is far left of the humble and conservative beginnings of the 23 yr old brand. Now Swatch matures into what they consider "wearable art". I (and art/fashion enthusiasts alike) wholeheartedly agree. Billy the Artist uses popular art to mold his concept and bring life to an otherwise succinct piece. He does a dope job giving us options that create a world of monstrous elegance and boisterous simplicity as you can see by the watches below.

Here are some hot photos from SWATCH CreArt event in NYC at new hotspot Avenue. Celebs like singers Mario ( who will probably take over the RNB game with his single killing the airwaves right now), Adrienne Bailon (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm), Julissa (mmmmmmmmmmm) and Nina Sky (double mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) celebrated the release of the Billy the Artist watches Afterdark and Morning Glow. Good to see that the singing group Brutha was in attendance to push their heavily awaited album after the reality TV show.

BILLY The ARTIST x SWATCH lets the world know that art wins once again.

Tribute to the Greatest

In honor of Michael Jordan getting inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame, longtime Jordan business partnet is paying tribute to "His Airness". Gatorade will release 6 commerative bottles that celebrate the career and legacy of Michael Jordan. The bottles are filled with three new flavors dubbed Championship Blue (berry-cherry), Championship Gold (citrus-orange) and Championship Red (berry blend). You will be able to find the new signature bottles at your local convenience stores, supermarkets, and of course Wal-Mart, but once they run out don't expect to see them ever again. The bottles hit shelves in early August. We were able to get our hands on these collectors items early and we're sharing them with you. Be sure to get yours when they hit the stores!

Excuse the empty bottle...ya boy got thirsty!!!

This is G.O.O.D Music

Here's the official video of "Make Her Say" by Kid Cudi feat Kanye and Common. When I heard the song, I expected the video to be a lot different than this but yet it still is on-point. Simple, clean and smooth. Thoughts....
